Room to Read

This organization is working to break barriers with low income families as they seek to reach millions of children who aren't school ready to read.

Each year in November, 20 books chosen from nominations by Texas librarians, teachers, parents, and students are placed on a list for students in grades 3-6 to read. Those students reading at least 5 of the 20 books can then vote in January on their favorite from the list. The winning book from votes across the state determine the Texas Bluebonnet Award winning book and author.

	eSafety Parents Created by the Australian government it is has great resources and advice about being online safely for all ages.
	FBI's Parent's Guide to Internet Safety The FBI's informational pamphlet regarding online exploitation and the risks associated with your children.
	Kids Health Online Safety A look at online safety for children that provides insight into the hazards of the internet.
	Netsmartz Created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has links for parents, educators, and law enforcement to find information regarding internet safety. Each page provides presentations and links to more information. Its also has a section for parents with teens and a special section for kids.
