Visiting Your Library

Great news! Next time you visit your favorite library location, you’ll be able to browse, read, and compute longer. North Angelo Branch, Angelo West Branch, and the downtown Stephens Central libraries have extended their visit duration for all in-house activities. Patrons are no longer limited to one visit per day.


Masks are appreciated, but are no longer required in the library. If you are uncomfortable with the Governor's new mandate, take advantage of our plentiful online resources! Don't know how? Give us a call at 325-655-7321, and we'll walk you through the process.

 

If any changes are required, we will alert the public through the usual media and digital outlets. Again, we thank you for your patience during the pandemic, and we look forward to the less-restrictive environment in the future.

 


Wireless Printing 

Wireless printing is currently not available at either of the two branches--we apologize for the inconvenience and hope to get the situation remedied as soon as possible.

You may still print from your device using the PrinterOn service at Stephens Central. Simply email your document to the printer of your choice:

People Attaining Library Services (PALS)
 
People Attaining Library Services provides library materials to the home-bound. Items are selected based on patron preference and devliered monthly. Contact Keith Mahler at 325-655-7321 ext. 1137 or email Keith.Mahler@co.tom-green.tx.us
 
InterLibrary Loans (ILL)
 
Interlibrary loan services allow patrons to borrow material from other libraries.Please visit our ILL page for more information. 
 
Online Renewals/Holds/Account Information
 
Account management services are available through our website. Click on "Browse Catalog" in the top right corner of the website, and then log in to your account - enter your library card number and PIN (first 3 letters of last name). You may then renew items on your account, place holds, and view other account information.
 
To renew materials online, click the "YOUR NAME'S Account" button in the top right corner, and then click "Account Activity". You will see a list of your current loans; renew them by clicking the check box at the top of the list to select all items, then click "Renew" to extend the due date for your items. If an item cannot be renewed, it is likely on hold for somebody else and must still be returned on the original due date.
 
To place a hold on an item in our catalog, find the item that you would like to check out. Click on the "Place Hold" button next to the item's record, and it will be added to your holds list, which you can view by clicking "YOUR NAME'S Account" in the top right corner and then go to the "Account Activity" tab and select "Holds". When the item is available, you will be notified via phone or e-mail and will have 7 days to pick up your item. Please note that the same card used to place the hold must be used to check out the hold.
 
To view any other account information, such as fines or contact information, click on "YOUR NAME'S Account" in the top right corner. You should see a tab that says "Account Summary"; all contact information associated with your account will show up there - please contact the library if any of your contact information is out of date. You can view fines by clicking on the "Account Activity" tab, and then select "Fines". You may also view a history of the materials you have checked out ("Loan History"), and create wishlists of books to read ("Saved Lists") and catalog searches you'd like to repeat ("Saved Searches").

Proctoring

Whether you have academic, vocational, or professional development goals, you may contact us to schedule an exam.  Please schedule proctoring sessions at least one day in advance.  Sign up here.

 Public Internet

Public Internet is available at all three library branches. To utilize public Internet computers, a valid Tom Green County library card in good standing is required. Visit the Reference Services page to learn more about Internet use in the library.

Library Study Rooms

Two study rooms are available for library patrons at Stephens Central. Each room may be reserved for two hours. If extended time is needed, patrons may request an extension from a librarian when the two-hour session has been completed. Click here to reserve the room that seats four. Click here to reserve the room that seats six.
 
Art in the Library

The library invites the public to showcase their art in one of the two exhibit areas. Interested artists may fill out the art exhibit application.
