Research and Obituary Assistance
Email us at email@example.com to request an obituary or newspaper article from the San Angelo Standard-Times.
Obituary/newspaper article look-up service is provided free of charge. Obituaries and articles will be e-mailed as a PDF file.
When requesting an obituary or a newspaper article look-up, please include the following information to expedite the research:
- Name of the deceased;
- Exact date of death (day, month, and year) and place of death;
- Date and place of birth, if possible.
- Title of the article;
- Exact date of publication (day, month, and year).
As the microfilm collection is not indexed or digitized, we are unable to search by name or a keyword. Obituary/death notice/newspaper article search cannot be performed without the exact date of death (day, month, and year). If the exact day is not available, the librarians will attempt to search within the month, as time and staff availability permit.
Although staff cannot undertake actual genealogical/family history research on behalf of patrons, we will gladly assist you in learning to use the library resources.
The following resources are available at the Central Library:
San Angelo Standard Times on Microfilm: collection incomplete, see here for details
School yearbooks: List of available yearbooks
We will gladly accept donations of any yearbooks or schools missing from our list.
