The Employment First Services and Benefits Training is a six hour training that consists of a basic introduction to the Employment First Movement and why the subject is important, basic information on the HCBS rule changes, billing under the 1915(c) waivers, Social Security Benefits and Work Incentives, processes with Texas Workforce Commission – Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation, Texas Health and Human Services Employment Recruitment Coordinator Project, and a session for management at the end of the day on financial aspects and rates for employment services billed under the waivers.

The ideal audience for this training would be service coordinators, social workers, employment specialists, direct care staff who support employment goals for individuals, and other staff who support employment goals for individuals.  This training is not only for Local Authority staff,  but equally important for private providers in your catchment area. we are working on an  online registration process for attendees. This is very valuable free training. Also, knowing that many LIDDA’s cover a large service area, if you have LIDDA or private provider staff  that would be unable to attend due being a long distance away, seek out one of the  other sessions.
